After training with Francine Shapiro in 1993, in my 40 years of working with adults and youth in a wide range of settings, I have found EMDR to be the most comprehensive and efficient method I have encountered to help resolve the issues people face and grow toward more adaptive choices.
My professional activities with EMDR include clinical work with adults and youth. Research interests included EMDR for gambling problems, disruptive behavior and sexual aggression problems. An international EMDR Network Newsletter shared my early attempt to explain EMDR in neuropsychological terms, stimulating research by others. I co-facilitate a study group of professionals More >>> and supervise other clinicians using EMDR.
We have a tremendous capacity to adapt to the challenges of life. Therapy guides experience to develop abilities within ourselves, learn new ways to cope, solve problems and find more adaptive answers than those we happened upon growing up. EMDR lets us gain new perspectives, resolve or reduce concerns, allowing movement toward better living. Close >>>
